When I connect them together, the Ethernet 300 program from SBC gives the following error: E0040P - Timeout while trying to connect to the network. What do I need to do the get the linksys (1 port) to work with the Ethernet 300 program from SBC.

You should not need to use the software.

Follow the Linksys instuctions to access the router setup page. Enter your DSL authentication information, and let the Linksys handle the modem and SBC.

As far as your computer is concerned you have an always on connection, it obtains its address automatically from the Linksys, and it does not use the SBC "dialer" software to make the connection.

As the others have mentioned, you no longer need the Enternet 300 software to connect. It was only meant for Win9x/ME/2000 pc's that don't support PPPoE natively. Your router does which is why you can scrap the software!

Just don't forget to go into your router config to set the username and password.
