etherchannel problem

Hi!
we have a aix52-05 with etherchannel. oneday,we've discovered that it lost the gateway address by removing all of the network cable.
what is a reason of being happen this problem?

Did it de-configure the interface (en?)? If the interface IP dissapears the associated routes will be deleted as well.
