I have an issue where a request type that I have created is not holding data in a certain field. It is a text field where there are 4 choices to choose from. This field is required in order to submit the request. When you select from the pulldown and submit - you don't get an error but at the next step of the process - the text is not there. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

P.S. I tried to look this up on the exact customer portal but it keeps timing out on me. Anyone else having issues today?

I did hit the same thing some time ago, and I can't remember exactly what it was. Things I would try :
Rebuild the Request Type (can't hurt)
In you list of items for testing add a blank and make default, pick the value you want and save. Does this get stored. Open a new request, and Start a SQL trace write before you save. Stop the Trace, and review.

Is this a Multiple Type Request? I ran into trouble when I wanted it to only create 5 requests, but I had selected 20 on the layout screen. It created 20 requests, but only 5 with the correct values.

I'm sorry - I forgot to reply - rebuilding the requests seems to have done the trick.

If you change the fields in the request, I have found it to be a good idea to rebuild the request. Glad it worked.

Correction: It is still not working. But I have more information - the field shows as populated when looking at a list of the requests through request search but when you go into the request itself it does not show the information.

Ok - It turns out my text selections were too long. By shortening the selections and changing the existing requests to reflect the shortened text, the field is now holding. I have a little more testing to do but it looks promising.
