Hi,

when I do a esxcfg-mpath -l, I notice that vmhba0 is no longer visible.

I know in normal troubleshooting you want to start at the lowest level, I guess the actual HBA card (since I know the fabric portion is ok) in fact, the problem probably is the HBA, but if it is not and maybe it is more of a VMware issue, what else can I do to find out what is causing me to lose my path within VMware.

The reason I think it may be the card is when I check /proc/scsi/lpfc/1

the file includes the statement: Link Down

thanks for the help!!!

You probably checked this, but does your fiber switch show a link for the port connected to this HBA? Was this working fine before? What changed?

ya, the fiber shows all good, port/cable has been verified.

to my knowledge nothing change, it just was noticed one day.

im guessing the card is bad, but like I said it is a mere guess.
