Hi, gotta simple esx server setup:
My first license server was on an internal static address.
The new license server is on a different internal static ip address.

My 2 esx servers (which are both working correctly) are both constantly trying to connect to the original license server (firewall logs get filled up everyday).

New license server working fine, esx servers working fine. No license manager software running on original license server (in fact it has been rebuilt, so the only setting the same as before is the static ip address)
Does anyone know where the setting would be that is causing these ESX servers to keep trying to contact the old license server?
i'm not even sure where to start looking....

have you changed the licence details in the configuration tab? or just changed the licence server. Are you running vcenter or managing each of the hosts via the client?

Thanks, of course, obvious place to look but i missed it.
Sometimes going to that tab causes esx server time outs.
Other times it is coming up with old license server information.
When i try to update it i get a worrying message:

'The license source you selected does not include all the licensed features you are currently using. Would you like to realse your current licenses and proceed anyway?'

i don't want to break my configuration, the old license server has been down for months. The new license source should be identical to the old one, v simple setup - 2 esx licenses, nothing else. Nothing has changed. I'll check with vmware before i do this as it is working now.
