Hi all,

We're in the process of designing a new computer room for a new facility. In order to figure out our air conditioning requirements, I've been asked to come up with an estimate of how much heat a typical Option 61 might produce.

Anyone have any ideas on this?

Thanks in advance.

in the planning and engineering ntp's a0804746 it had the btu produced by each style power supply and cab..

Yes, I found it in the Large System Planning & Engineering, NTP 553-3021-120 rev 1.0 Oct/2003. Page 171 and 2 gives a table of heat disipation per module; let me know if you don't have that NTP (It's on my SMERL disc, latest rev I think). I can try and cut/paste the info out of the PDF. Or, I can email you that page(s) out of the PDF if you'd like. Looks like most of the modules dissipate around 800 to 1200 BTU/hr. Hope this helps! -Matt

Thanks for the quick replies. I'll check my NTPs when I get back to the office.

<smile> I would guess you have tons more experience; I've only been doing this for about 3 years at a hospital. Shoot, in 30 seconds, you coulda buried someone in the pine box too! But I digress... happy new year.! -<
