Essbase 6.5.4 on XP Client Problem

Hi,
Just upgrading to Essbase 6.5.4 from 5.0.2 [yes I know it's now 2005!]

Server upgrade was fine and then installed Essbase 654 client software on an XP desktop - installation seemed fine however, when launching Application Manager OR the Excel Add-In I get the following message "Cannot create client identification file".
I assume that this is a permissions thing, however the user has read/write access to the area where the client software is installed.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
