I have 8730's with 25 G450's and 11 LSP with 1 S8510ESS. I did the licensing in RFA and all is fine except the ESS. I set the serial number for the ESS licensing in RFA to the serial of an IPSI in Port Network 3. I believe this is wrong. What to I apply as the serial number for the ESS License File?

The ESS is registering to the 8730's but its in license error and system will be blocked in 4 hours.

Please advise?

The ESS server would usually be licensed to the IPSI in the G650 port network at the location the ESS is located at, which I can't tell from your post..

Sorry - this is what I have done but the 8730 is showing the ESS registered but its still in license error if I connect directly to the ESS. Am I missing setting?

I setup the ESS in cha sys ess and the cluster ID is correct on both sides. The ESS is using control network A for PE and its IP is different network than the other LSP's.

Sounds like CN-A doesn't have IP connectivty to the IPSI or the G450, or whatever you are using for the licnese Serial Number. Set the ESS to use the Corporate LAN for PE, and see if it can get to it that way...

I may be on the wrong track but it also can't hurt to take a peek at your advanced firewall settings and see if ports 5010,5011 and 5012 are open.
I had issues sometime ago with ESS's being blocked at that level.
