Can any one of you help me to accespt this challenge.
I hope so as this site and this newsgroup members always help me a lot
in past,
I have configured two Pseries machines ( AIX 5.2 ML01) to see an ESS
2105 hard disks.
I have configured SDD on the machines ( SDD 1.4.0.5).
But the problem is that i can not initiate flash copy tasks ...i am
able to connect to ESS Flash copy services server...but when i try to
establish flash copy pairs it says in logs " communication with
alternate server failed,
Physical storage server not available "
I also have bit confusion with the procedure which i can use with
flash copy to work.
I have following in my mind:
1.Assign source lun to host1..appearing as vpath1...create oraclevg
and populate data in its fs.( pvid on vpath not on hdisks in it)
2.Stop Oracle databases/Apps and establish flash copy pair with a
target lun.
This lun is later to be assigned to host2.
3.Start Oracle databases.
4.After some time break flash copy pair and assign target lun on host2.
5.Run cfgmgr on host2...this must cause pvid of vpath1( host1) to appear on a new vpath on host2.
6.Simply Importvg on host2...and start backup on tape.
Now God knows whether this procedure will work for me or not......
Can any body with this skill set may help me
