We compiled some *.ec programs on SCO UNIX a few weeks ago simply using 'esql -o executable source' command line. Everything worked as expected. But recently we tried to recompile the same code due to code modifications, the executable size became much bigger than before and when trying to execute it, all SQL statements inside the code failed. Then, we put the original code back and recompiled it. It failed as well. However, our System Admin/DBA insisted that nothing has been changed on the SCO UNIX box.

Does anyone out there know what might be missing to cause the failure after being succesful a few weeks ago? Based on the fact that we deal with the same code and the previous executable still works even as of now, we think that something must have been changed inside the INFORMIX components on SCO UNIX box, but just don't know which piece(s). And that has be to related to Esql component.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

I would revisit your environment variables. it sounds like one of those might have changed.

Jerry,

Thanks for your response. Our DBA had to reinstall the entire Infomix to take care of this problem. The Esql file was overwritten by a wrong version file as discovered later.

Thanks,
