I am trying to restrict specific digits for certain SPNs. I was able to add alot of restriction, but now I am receiving an ESN 68 [no more restricted numbers allowed for this code]. Can this restriction be increased? Here is a copy of my info in Ld 86:

REQ PRT
CUST 0
FEAT ESN

MXLC 125
MXSD 500
MXIX 25
MXDM 50
MXRL 61
MXFC 10
MXFS 0
MXSC 500

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you...

ACE, MXSD sets the threshold for SDR ports. But thanks anyway...

Taken right from the NTP's

MXSD xxx Maximum number of Supplemental Digit restriction blocks (not sdr ports)

ACE,

MXSD expands the number of SDR blocks [I said ports before, I meant to write blocks]. SDR stands for Supplemental Digit Restriction. This controls the total number of SPNs and/or NPAs that your PBX is able to have programmed at any one time. If you try to add an NPA or SPN and receive an ESN 80, the you need to increase the number set for MXSD. I am trying to increase the number of restrictions allowed for a specific SPN. When I try and restrict a number for ex., SPN 14, I am receiving an ESN 68 [no more restricted numbers allowed for this code].

But, for the heck of it, I did follow your advice and increased my MXSD in Ld 86 to be 1000, went back into SPN 14 and, tried to add another restricted code and still received an ESN 68.

I wonder if there is a way to increase the restricted codes for a particular SPN or NPA. My SPN 14 currently is denying 64 SDRR codes.

Also, when you look up ESN 80 in the NTPs, it recommends to either out or expand MXSD, but ESN 68 does give a recommendation which leaves me to believe you cannot increase the # of restriction codes per SPN and NPA.

Any more thoughts? Thanks...

I beleive that is the Max per each SPN.

I've been doing NARS/BARS since 1982 and it seem to me your making this harder than it needs to be, what are you trying to do anyway?

I inherited an Opt 81 where all the area codes are built as SPNs [instead of 1201, it's built as 12]. So, I received an assignment to block 555 [directory assistance] for all SPNs. In order to do that, for example, for SPN of 12, I need to deny 01555 [which denies 555 for area code 201], 02555 [which denies 555 for area code 202]etc...

I know I could remove all SPNs and rebuild each area code as an NPA [ex. 1201 - deny 555, 1202 - deny 555], but I was hoping that I did not have to do that.

Any ideas??
