The LEC is telling me, that there is framing errors coming from the PBX. How do I correct this? The PBX is a Prologix r10
only 1 ds1 board (TN464gp hv2 fw24). Board has been swapped once and reseated several times.

Framing errors are usually caused by incorrect settings on your DS1 form. You'd want to match the settings of the vendor.

Your choices are D4 or ESF. You'd want to make sure you match what they have.

If you're using an external CSU, that would also have to be set to match the framing of the T1.

If everything is correct, have the vendor check their own circuits. Just like you, their connection points that link your T1 back to the network must be set correctly. I've encountered more than one T1 circuit in my life where just one part of the span was set incorrectly, and introduced errors.

I had the telco change the hdsl option from unframed to ESF. I saw no difference the hdsl ESF led on the demarc still continued to flash green. In addition to that the telco tech said he could not see "signal from PBX"???? I asked the telco to go back to "unframed" and the status did not change either way???
I am being plagued with calls that come into the pbx get answered by a vector then the call drops when a choice is made to goto an agent. This occurs intermittantly every 20th or 25th call.
I would feel better if there were no framing errors.

I my opinion, you would want to designate a framing option.

ESF framing with B8ZS would be appropriate for PRI and other T1. You could get away with D4 with AMI-ZCS if you're not using a PRI.

Discuss the options with your carrier. They might suggest guidance about configurations.

You should be able to insert a loopback plug and the telco should see it's own signaling. If he can't, you have a T1 problem that they need to fix.

I tried the loopback jack and it proved a good telco demarc, on a whim I changed out the interface cable with a new one and the errors are gone. Thanks
