ERWIN creates s.procedures for example cascade deletes automatically to create for example ms sqlserver sprocedures. question is how do you get it generate **generic sql** that could be used for another vendor db, say mysql ?

thanks !

Hi,

The default triggers that are generated to enforce referential integrity are encoded in the ERwin macro language and as such are portable across all target dbms's.
When the DDL is generated the macros are expanded with the correct syntax for the target dbms.
What requires more detailed consideration is when you start enhancing the default behaviors by introducing you own code - you have to be careful that you do not introduce dbms specific constructs if you want the templates to be applicable across multiple dbms's.
