A few months ago we purchased an ERS5520 which is now in production. Its running f/w release 5.0.0.2 and s/w release 5.0.0.010. We recently purchased a few more switches that I wish to add to the stack however the software release on these is much older. Is there any way of downloading the image files from the existing 5520 any copy them to the new ones? Could someone perhaps be able to help me get a copy? We currently don't have a maintenance coverage on these switches yet so I'm not able to download them from Nortel just. Any help would be much appreciated.

You can upload software to the 5500s with TFTP but I don't think you can download software from them. It might be possible to get software-only coverage for these switches, which would likely be cheaper than the hardware coverage they want to sell you.

I agree with Anthony. The 1-year maintenance agreement (core phone service with software upgrade abaility) is only $230 list for 5520-48. Considering that model lists for $8K, this is a drop in the bucket for maintenance. Go for it
