ERS 8600 Error MSG

Hi

I’m getting the following error msg when booting my Passport (ERS) 8610

seepromGetInfo: crc failed on device 20, calc: efde dev: f0de

Hardware: Chassis 8610
1* 8692 SF in Slot 6
1* 8630GBR in Slot 2
Software: 4.0.5.0

Any pointers or help would be great

Does the chassis boot up correctly, or does it hang?

I once had a DOA 8010 chassis with a similar message, turned out the EPROM that contained the base MAC address was bad but in that case the box abended the boot process when it noticed its base MAC address was 00:00:00... Nortel replaced it right away.

The chassis boot up. When looking at the Show Tech Info i'm not getting any info for the first power supply... So i'm guesting that may be the problem, but why i don't know?

If you can spare the power you could try switching power supplies around to see if the issue follows the PS or if it follows the slot.
