Hello, I have noticed that we are running "errclear 0" each day from a cron job. I would like to keep seven days of history so I will likely change it to "errclear 7".

Where is the error log stored as I want to make sure it has plenty of space.

Thanks - Brad

By default, I believe it is:

/var/adm/ras/errlog

Regards,
Chuck

Why empty it, it is limited in size and just over writes the oldest when full, I think about a meg is the normal size limit.
From about AIX5.2 it also archives.
If you have a problem you will need the initial errors to trouble shoot it properly, if you go deleting it you may have deleted the important errors by the time you notice some thing is going wrong.
