Hi folks,

we keep getting entries in our error log every few minutes saying something like that:

Label: GRAPHICS
Type: PERM
Resource: LFTDD

Software Program Error

Detected: lftwput Error 2009 Location 21
Number of duplicates 1

Any ideas what that might be ?

AIX is version 5 ...

Thanks in advance !

Regards
Thomas

That's an old one. IBM thinks they fixed that some time ago but it's still around. It is a non-problem as far as you are concerned, I just clean it out every day in my cronjob

/usr/bin/errclear -N LFTDD,S 0

It is an error from the low functioning terminal. There are a couple of filesets to remove to cleanup the error, though I cannot remember what they are. They cause no problems with you system or performance, just an annoyance in the errpt.

Maybe related, maybe not:

Problem
lftwput errors exist in errpt.
Solution
Most problems are caused by stty or echo statements in
.dtprofile, .profile, .kshrc, .login, or .cshrc. Problems
have also been found when applications, programs, or scripts
are started from the /etc/inittab, .dtprofile, .profile,
.kshrc, .login, or .cshrc. The .login and .cshrc were not in
the source. These two files are only used when you are
running a C shell versus a Korn shell.

The following is an example of how you might see your $HOME
directory:

Korn Shell C Shell
---------- -----------
.dtprofile .dtprofile
.profile .login
.kshrc .cshrc
