Erros when sendmail tries to send mail to Exchange

I've added DXsmtp:server-name-01 to the sendmail.cf file and left all the other feilds as is. When I try and send an email to my internal address I get the following:

Can someone help me setup sendmail in AIX 4.3.3 using v8.x can't tell which version it is. It came with 4.3.3.

have you looked into creating a sendmail.cf file from tne .mc files? might give you a better result.

jad, don't know what you mean by that. I also think I have the wrong version of the sendmail.cf file because I get warning messages at the bottom saying its not compatible with AIX4.3.3. I think the sendmail is v.8.? If I were to send you my sendmail.cf would this help? I keep reading different setup's for AIX to MS Exchange, its like people are doing their own thing, if it works, they publish it. Then we some poor sap like me tries it, nothing works.

What's the best way to install sendmail on AIX 4.3.3? I've downloaded the new version already.

i use Solaris, and Sun has their own modifications to sendmail.

with the sendmail distribution there were m4 files (sun sticks them in /var/mail/) if your distribution of sendmail is the one from sendmails site (

http://www.sendmail.org

) then you should have the m4 files that go with it.

make changes to the m4 (.mc) files, run make and then use the .cf file that is produced.

Yes, I have the files from sendmail.org, but how does that get installed in AIX 4.3.3? There is like 687 files in this zip file. Do you know a way to install this on AIX so I don't screw up anything?
