When setting up pcs for our customers, I keep having problems with SCSI DDS4 Tape drives (IBM P/N 00N7991) with Windows 2003 Server Standard.
These are installed in IBM 205 netfinity Servers (4840 model lately), and use the integrated SCSI bus.
We keep getting "Error Reported: Bad data" and this is on brand new systems with new tapes.
Generally, we haven't switched SCSI IDs or settings (if it isn't broke, don't fix it), unless there was some rare conflict.
One think I would LOVE to do is erase, reinitialize, etc the tapes, but naturally ntbackup has none of those features.
Would love some help, ideas.
Oh, and if someone could get BackupMyPC (was once Seagate's BackupExec for non-server Windows) to install/work on a Server OS, let me know ;-)
