I'm not sure if this is a vista issue or not..

Every time I start my machine up and it gets to the desktop, I get this Error loading pop up. Stating it cant find a DLL.

Any thoughts? How I can get rid of it or fix it? take a look at the screen cap at the url.

The error is pretty self explanatory, it can't find that particular file in that particular location. However the location should have a dll file in it, and the name of the file is highly suspicious.

Run a scan with 2 of these:

Malwarebytes

SpyBot Search and Destroy

Ad-Aware

Run a Hijackthis scan and post it here so we may take a look.

Hijackthis

Additionally use Msconfig tool to take a look at the startup items, see if you find anything strange that's starting up with the PC that may be looking for that particular file.

correction, this:
However the location should have a dll file in it,

Should read:

"However the location should [red]NOT[/red] have a dll file in it,"

I can also recommend SuperAntiSpyware as a fourth scanner...

in my opinion, skip AdAware altogether, if MBAM or SAS (see above) does not a culprit then harder stuff must be called in to do the cleaning, e.g. ComboFix and GMER...

now as to a HJT log, yes do post it...

ughh man this is becoming a head ache.... i downloaded those apps you mentioned, but i think spybot screwed up my system... i cant uninstall or install ad-aware now... see the error i keep getting from the installer and when i try uninstall from the control panels area.

Here's the line:

Code:
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [MagnCERT] rundll32 "C:\Users\picasso\AppData\Local\Temp\choiices.dll",DllEntryPoint

Have Hijackthis remove that line. However I'm curious as to what the MagnCERT may be referring to.

As far as the Ad-Aware issue, have you restarted the machine since installing it? Try uninstalling it from safe mode as well.

One more thing, i did remove:

Code:
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [MagnCERT] rundll32 "C:\Users\picasso\AppData\Local\Temp\choiices.dll",DllEntryPoint

I hope it didnt hurt anything. I also removed spybot. it kept doing odd things... i had bit torrent on my machine; just removed it. When I launched spybot it kept finding invisible bit torrent files...and kept asking me if i wanted to allow bit torent to do something with my firewall. something i should worry about? well i already removed both of them...

oh and when i ran spybot it did find some issues...but that program was so confusing to me...it said it had issues with ad-aware.. whats that about?

Stalwarts like AdAware and Spybot Search and Destroy are older programs which I don't bother with any more.

These seem to be the better choice nowadays.
