Hey all,
We are host about 20 websites for customers and just started having this problem with one client this weekend. Event Viewer lists unable to write to service.lck file. Now we have lost a few transactions over the weekend and had problems with making changes etc to this site. I found a q article on this and delted the file as told. I removed server extensions and reapplied them. This worked for about a day and then boom errors again and more files with permission problems. Does anyone have an idea about what more I can do?????
Thanks
CA

I too had this service.lck problem with olny one useer. I tried redoing server extensions, removing the locked file, and verifying the user permissions, nothing worked. I bit the bullet and opened at ticket with Mircrosoft. After many emails and hours on the phone with Microsoft, and redoing all the things I had already tried, we were still getting the service.lck file. Then Microsoft (with all it's wisdom) had me create a new user account for this person. Logging in with a new user name, with rights that the old account had, she was able to edit and save in FrontPage again! So I don't think Microsoft fixed anything, just found away around it!! Hope this helps.
