Error with restoring VSS savesets

I am rying to restore VSS savesets and I am getting the following error messages. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ERROR: Failed to initialize VSS recover, error=0x0: Invalid XML document passed: it is either not a correctly formed XML string or it does not match the schema.

recover: error recovering C:\temp\Event Log Writer.2121244112.xml
