error with outlook .pst file with XP after use of win7

Hi!

Next scenario.
My outlook pst-files are on local NAS.
I am using several PC's with XP as well as with Win7.
The use of these PST-files was all was OK until I started using Win7.
Using Win7 : no problem.
Than, using XP I can read all mail in Outlook but unable to retrieve new mails from mailserver of provider.
Any idea how to prevent from this unwanted behaviour?
