Hi all,
all of a sudden I am not able anymore to connect to the secondary site via SMS-AdminConsole / SMS Service Manager.
There when I click Site and then Connect and enter the correct name of the server I get: "Error communicating with the specified SMS Site server".
But that did work yesterday...

I also noticed an entry in System Status / Site Status for this server quoting the following:
___
Network Discovery detected CIM Object Manager, but could not establish a connection to it. Network Discovery cannot continue because all its configuration information is retrieved from CIM Object Manager.

Possible cause: This computer has an incompatible version of CIM Object Manager, or there was an internal error within CIM Object Manager.
Solution: Re-install CIM Object Manager by running Sms\bin\[i386|alpha]\wbemsdk.exe.
___

I tried re-installing from this source but when I execute this file simply nothing happens.

As Network Discovery is not working anymore no clients are discovered and therefore not installed.
Any hints please ?

Thanks,
Chris

Gotta ask...what changed on the server or that part of the network? Rod Trent

Rod,
thanks again for your reply ;)
What changed ? Well, nothing concerning SMS....I was told by one my colleagues that they tried updateing the IBM-Director SW with a ServicePack and obviously this changed WBEM. Also the WMI service is not starting anymore quoting something like "...has been marked for deletion and/or dependency not found...".
I tried reinstalling WBEM without any success :(
Hopefully I do not need to re-install the whole Server....

Chris
