error with blobs in crystal 8.5 with oracle 9.2.0.7

Hello,

We store a number of images as blobs in a table that we can access through crystal reports. Our database was just upgraded from 9.2.0.5 to 9.2.0.7. Since then, when trying to use these images in reports, the field type shows up as string[3999] and when trying to refresh the report, we get the following error: "ora-00932: inconsistent datatypes: expected NUMBER got BLOB." Has anyone seen this before, or any ideas on how to fix this?

What connectivity are you using?

As you probably know, CR 8.5 predates Oracle 9, so there are known issues. Try the Oracle native connectivity or the Crystal supplied Oracle ODBC, not the Oracle supplied ODBC.
