error while mailing in 8i

I tried the steps given in one of the thread in the subject, and I am getting the following error while executing the procedure

ERROR at line 1:
ORA-20002: ERROR IN EMAIL => -29540: ORA-29540: class
oracle/plsql/net/TCPConnection does not exist
ORA-06512: at "dev.SENDMAIL", line 27
ORA-06512: at line 1

where dev is owner of the procedure sendmail which is procedure given in the thread.

Any advice will be appreciated.
