Error while creating a style sheet

I want to have a style sheet so all my backgrounds are the same. Am I doing this right? am getting an error message!


I open a new page in DW, put in my background, save as a .css file. Then I want to link this to all of my pages. So I open my first page and go to "styles," "body" "link" and I browse to the name of the page (backgd.css) and then I get the message "AN UNEXPECTED ERROR OCCURRED WHILE TRYING TO READ THE STYLE SHEET INFORMATION."
