Error When Saving to PDF

On a 30 day evaluation version of Illustrator I get error messages when I save to PDF. The file I'm working on is a PDF and I get the same problem on the 'Save", "Save a Copy". I have tried to save to desktop, and other locations and I have even turned off my virus checker when I do the save.
Is there anyone that has seen this ?

Try turning off “Preserve Illustrator Editing Capabilities” setting when you save. Ive had that fix errors when saving as PDF. If you got distiller I’d use that above all. Print your file to postscript and distill it. At least then you will know what its hanging on, and you get more PDF options.
