I am trying to save a PDF file from Acrobat Reader 5.05 to a network drive. The specific folder is about 6 levels deep. When I click "Save Copy As", I receive the following error:

Acrobat Reader:

The Disk you were saving to or the Disk used for Temporary files is full. Free some space on this disk and try again, or save to a different disk.

I have verified that the space on the Server is adequate for saving this file. File size is roughly 300KB.

*If I drag and drop the file into the location, it will save correctly.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Sounds like whatever your temp directory location is is full. When you drag and drop you have already saved the file to your local machine, so it didnt care about temp space. But if you are saving to the network, it first saves the file in the temp directory on your local machine, and then performs the copy.

I too have this exact problem on a client PC.
It's a W2K P4 1.7GHz with plenty of disk space; temp folders have also been dumped.
The PC has Acrobat Reader 5.05 installed and Writer 4.05a...
The target folder is on a W2K server.
Have you managed to find a resolution to this, gpalmer?

No solution yet. I just had the user move the files up a few levels and it worked.

Hello Mr. Palmer,

I have spent a bit of time on this problem and can report the following:
I have found the Folder path AND Filename cannot exceed 121 characters including "\" folder separators.
That is, a folder path of 80 characters and a filename of 42 characters is invalid, or a folder path of 120 characters and a filename of 2 characters is invalid.

I have also tried a newer version of the Reader (5.1 vs. our current 5.05) but I still have the same problem.
The previous version of Reader (4.05) does not have the "Save As" functionality.
Very strange; I will try this at another location to verify it.

There is another workaround; you can use Acrobat 4.0 Writer as your default Reader as well.
I have tested opening a PDF file in a folder 185 characters deep with a file name of 50 characters OK with Writer 4.0.
Very Strange; I will try this at another location to verify it.
