Good day,

I have successfully activated the agent, started the wizard and planned my strategy (Full back up of database every weekday).

All went well until I wanted to save the maintenance plan; the wizard accepted all of my entries but failed when trying to save the plan.

I have checked all my entries going as far as to accept the suggested values and paths from the wizard to no avail.

The wizard informs me that there is an error when saving.

I have appended (and translated) the text below.

Any ideas where I might be going wrong?

Best regards

Make sure that you have SQL Server Integration Services installed on the SQL Server.

Hi,

I've checked the SQL Server Configuration window.

Under SQL Server 2005-Services I have running:

SQL Server-FullText search (MSSQLSERVER)
SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER)
SQL Server Reporting Services(MSSQLSERVER)
SQL Server-Browser (MSSQLSERVER)
SQL Server-Server-Agent (MSSQLSERVER)

This would imply I need to install the SQL Integration Services.

I have the CD at hand and would like to post-install via the wizard.

Is this easy to do?

Do you believe it will reolve the issue with saving the maintenance plans?

Best regards

As far as I can see, SQL integration services are installed:

PAGINA-SERVER
Die folgenden Komponenten sind auf diesem Server installiert

Any ideas?`

SQL Server 2005 Workgroup Edition doesn't include SSIS. You won't be able to schedule maintenance plans.

You'll need to either run them manually, or schedule the T/SQL commands directly.

I have managed to resolve the issue by installing SP2; apparently it was a bug! Further, authentication had to be at Windows level.

Thanks for your help
