Error when printing a PDF

When printing a particular PDF from Acrobat 5.0, the print job stops on one page, and instead of printing it I get this error message on the sheet the PDF page should have been on:

PCL XL error
Subsystem: KERNEL
Error: IllegalOperatorSequence
Operator: ReadImage
Position: 1501

The print job is then killed, no pages past this one page will print... however, if I start the print job on a later page, all the subsequent pages do print.
The PDF was created in FreeHand and converted using PDF Distiller... it's text with 4 photos.
We've tried re-PDF'ing the document, but still get the same error. Any ideas on what might be causing this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

...a PCL XL error is apparently an issue with the HP printer driver on laser printers and the software (in your case acrobat) communication to that printer driver...

Thanks... I didn't even think to mention the printer type though, it's a new Lexmark T640 on a network, so the article didn't really apply. Thanks for responding!
