Error when passing a "-" through the querystring

I am passing parameter that has a hyphen in it say for example ("test-123") when I call the viewrpt.cwr by passing this parameter I am getting the syntax error. I tried the URLEncoding but the "hyphen" remains the same and gives me a syntax error when the value is passed to the viewrpt.cwr.

Does any one know the solution for this?

Help me out. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
This is the error message I am getting, "The syntax of the value for prompt 'prompt1' is incorrect. Please correct the syntax and try again"

For your reference I am giving the value that I see in the browser window,

http://website/crystalreportviewers...ptex0=SuKarthi&promptex1=test-0001&promptex2=

This error occurs when ever I use special characters as the parameter value. I have been searching for a solution for more than 2 days now.

Have you tried enclosing the value in single or double quotes?
