I have a hand full of users that are trying to open some email messages that are saved on there desktops.. When they close the saved email message and then try and go back into the same save message it gives a message that says cannot find the specified file or access denied.

When you close out of outlook and then go back in you can open up those emails saved once and then open it up..does the same thing over and over

The computers have office 2007 sp1 with all of the updates.

I have searched up and down on google and have not found ANY thing about it.

If anyone has ANY ideas that would be great!!!!

Thanks
James

were these emails saved to a .PST (Personal Folder) on their desktops or "saved as" with type = html, txt,Office template or message?

Essentially tell me how they saved the email to their desktop

sam

They Clicked and dragged the email from Outlook to there desktop. Saved with type .Msg

then your message will need to open...using Outlook... then it will trigger the app it needs....xls..Excel doc, Word and so forth...

Run a regclean tool and get your file associations back in order...

You can Rt Click the .msg file on your desktop
> choose "Open With"
> Click Choose Program
> if you don't see Outlook.exe click Browse
>*DoubleClick MS Office Folder
>*DClick Office 11
> choose Outlook.exe
> check the box that says "Always use this program to open files of this type.

*I have Office 2003 so the folders choise may be a bit different.

good luck
