Hi all,

This is what i have:
Set rsResident = cnResident.Execute("SELECT * FROM tableName WHERE curr_owner_name LIKE '" & strInput & "'")

if strInput = DOE J% then it works fine but
if strInput = %E JOHN then it gives me the error msg "the Microsoft Jet Database engine stopped the process b/c you and another user are attempting to change the same data at the same time", sometimes the msg is sth about "refeerence memory. The memory could not be read..."
Your help is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Bao Nghi

Been trying some tests to try and re-create this error but I cannot. I do have 2 suggestions.

1. Try putting the % sign on both sides of the strInput
2. Do not include the % in the strInput try something like this:
LIKE % & '"strInput & "'"
