To All,

I have a problem that I can't resolve. I have a P4IBMS motherboard with chipset 478. For some reason, I can't install window 2000 or window XP but if I install win98. It went through. The symptom is after formating the hard disk to NTFS, it's start copying files to the hard disk, then it error out. It's keep saying can't copy .sys files or some dll files. I try to flash the Bios, using different hard disk, different copy of XP version. But still having the same error. My last option is get a new board with new chipset. Does anyone run into this problem??? Pls help

Thanks

This type of error has often turned out to involve bad RAM. XP is a lot more critical of minor problems than 98 is.

Try checking your RAM.

There is a new version of memtest out that is based on the old memtest.

You can find it here.

I thought the old memtest86 was a dead project but seems it was updated, the new memtest had a new version released today.
