I am new to this SQL world an it looks big from where I sit. Can anybody help me with this small problem? When trying to import a table(the same table just converted in format) from Access 97 or Access 2000 I get the following error

Error at destination for row No 284. Errors encountered so far in this task: 1. Invalid character for cast specification.

It appears there is a data definition not correct for a piece of data but how do I nail it down?

I presume you are not overly familiar to SQL so I will take it from basics.

The error about cast is to do with the fact that you are changing one datatype from another, as far as I remember, this is reinforced by the invalid character erro you are getting.

Can you look at the defintion of the table and see if all of the column types are in SQL Server.
I know this isn't of much help, but without more information I'm not sure what to say. Is there anyone with more of a database idea in your job - they should have run up against this type of problem before.
Let me know if you get more info.
