Error when Dialing number but OK if Privacy is turned off?

Have you ever come across a problem when calling out the phone says Error but this only happens if the extension is set to Privacy in the Telephone Directory?

For example we have a Featurenet. They dial numbers such as 70002556. When the phone number they are calling from is set to Privacy it says Error on the phone display when the number is dialled. Yet if we take the privacy off it works fine?

Not familiar with Featurenet but Privacy turns off the display of the CLID and only sends the Telephone Directory name. My guess is that when the extension places the call the carrier is not seeing a valid CLID and rejects the call.

I forgot to mention that it was OK when we were on MCD 4.2 - we just upgraded to MCD 5.0 SP2 and are now getting this weird error.
