In ACCESS 2003, I have a simple table with an autonumber field, text fields, date fields and one Yes/No field set as a checkbox. None of the fields have validation rules. One field, Form ID, is set to Indexed No Duplicates allowed. (I verified there are no duplicates)

Now for the problem...some records when modified (it does not make any difference on the field modified) are causing an error when the table is closed. "Error 'Error evaluating CHECK constraint,' in the validation rule" Again, I do not have any validation rules set...for any field. The help button on the Error message shows a blank screen.

Currently the table is not related to any other tables in the DB.

Help!! Please!!

I recreated the table in the same DB copying the Design View Items and then copying the data. The problem does not show in the new table.....?????? So, I have a fix but I would still like to know what happened. Any ideas?

I vaguely recall reports of people having defined constraints and then removing them ... only to have them be no longer visible but still apparently active as in your case. A compress should get rid of them but sometimes the only cure is a rebuild.

... or it could be gremlins.
