When I try to setup exchange2003 account in an outlook 2003, I get a message saying that outlook must be connected or online.

Outlook option "work offline" is not ticked. Ping to server (local in the same LAN) works well, OWA works also well in this computer. It's not a problem of mailbox, I've tried with several mailboxes and message is always the same. I've tried as a normal user and as administrator. I've reinstalled and repaired outlook.

I don't know what more I can do. Is the only computer on the network with this kind of problem. Is Windows2000.

Can you help me, please?

Where exactly does this message pop up, and can you post the exact error?

Matt J.

Please always take the time to backup any and all data before performing any actions suggested for ANY problem, regardless of how minor a change it might seem. Also test the backup to make sure it is intact.

I translate the error messages, so maybe message in English would not use exactly same words.

When I'm doing setup of new Exchange account, and I click on "check name" button I get message:

>Action could not be completed. Conection to Microsoft Exchange is not available. Outlook must be online or connected to complete the action.<

If I accept this setup, when I open Outlook I get message:

>Conection to Microsoft Exchange Server is not available. Outlook must be online or connected to do this action.<

Check the DNS entries on your workstation. The only entry that should be there is the IP address of your DNS server (likely to be your domain controller).
