When I open Enterprise Manager I am getting the following error message

The Procedure entry point WNetEnumCachedPasswords could not be located in the dynamic link library MPR.dll

It still lets me access Enterprise manager but I am concerned that I am suddenly receiving this error (I have not had this popup message before today)

I am quite new to SQL Server so if anyone can tell me what kind of problem I am looking at I would appreciate it.

Thanks in advance. [sig]<p>Crystal<br><a href=mailto:crystals@genesis.sk.ca>crystals@genesis.sk.ca</a><br><a href= > </a><br>--------------------------------------------------<br>

The Enterprise Manager makes use of the Microsoft Management Console (MMC), and the MMC is shared by a number of Microsoft applications. Is it possible you recently installed a program that may have overwritten the previous, SQL Server-installed version of MMC? I installed Corel Draw 7 and then uninstalled a little while later, and uninstalled a game a coworker had previously installed.

Even though I had wanted to do my development on a seperate machine the budget here did not allow for that so the server I am developing for I am also developing on and the dll that got trashed also killed my email.

Sorry, thats not asking a question I am just venting %-( .

But I do have a question, do you know what the best next step is for me (troubleshooting problems like this has always been a weakness of mine)? You should be able to reinstall the EM from the SQLS install disks. I have had to do this a couple of times, and it has always corrected the problem I was having without disconnecting my databases. Naturally, you should make a backup of the database(s) first. [sig]<p>Robert Bradley<br><a href=mailto: > </a><br><a href= - Visual FoxPro Development</a><br> [/sig]

Thanks a bunch, I will try that. [sig]<p>Crystal<br><a href=mailto:crystals@genesis.sk.ca>crystals@genesis.sk.ca</a><br><a href= > </a><br>--------------------------------------------------<br>
