error validating recipient - could not bind to path 1

I have an issue where some emails are not being delivered to some of our people. the issue is with this one outside person trying to email our company, but I checked and they have the email address typed in correctly, but it still refers to active directory error.

we have a 3rd party spam software, but dont know if that is the problem or not.

only emails from this one person are getting this error so far.

In your Exchange Server properties in ESM, check your Directory Access tab. Make sure the DC's are in there and are correct. Remove invalid entries.

To confirm if it is your Exchange server or not, telnet to your Exchange server on port 25 and send an email yourself from that person to your inbound users and see if you generate the same error.

You do? Exchange / DC trouble.
No? Third party spam trouble.
