Error, updating files with IEAK 6 SP1

I have a fresh install (even tried a reinstall after an uninstall) of the IE6 SP1 Administration kit. After I start the customization wizard and move through to the 2nd page of "stage 2", I hit the "Updates..." button. After a little window pops-up saying that it is "Searching for updates", I get an error message:

The instruction at "0x01010586" referenced memory at "0x0077006f". The memory could not be "read".

I can reproduce this 100%

Any ideas behind this error?
