Error : Unable to open registry key 'Temporary (volatile) Jet DSN

I am using a connection string calling a Access 2000 mdb file from within the asp.. this used to work but suddenly I started getting the following error.
Error Type:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (0x80004005)
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]General error Unable to open registry key 'Temporary (volatile) Jet DSN for process 0x58c Thread 0x7d8 DBC 0x8cde954 Jet'.

The same script is perfectly fine on another server on which I tested.. Any suggestions regarding this would be helpful

Charles addresses this error, and offers his solution to circumventing it (by using OLE DB)
