error type 3 1

I run os 9.04 and use Final Draft(screenwriting software) Everything was runnning fine until I took the advice of a software salesman and started to upgrade my OS for better stability--if it ain't broke--after installing conflict catcher 9 and responding to a prompt to fix a few files re Norton Disk Doctor I can no longer install/boot or read any file or app with FInal Draft.

Help?!!!

I've uninstalled, reinstalled about 5 x's with error type 3 preventing me from enjoying life.

the phone tech from Final Draft seemed to know about as much as I did--sad statement on the educational system-but I digress.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Okay I'm hear to help but frankly I don't know enough about your system to give you solid support. Did you upgrade the OS? If so, to what version?

I'll fire off a few shots in the dark though until you post your system configurations.

Number one - bag conflict catcher. Worthless.

Reboot your system loading only base os extensions.
Do you know how to do this?

Apple Menu | Control Panels | Extension Manager
then in the drop down for Selected Set choose Mac OS Base ... reboot...

Option II is to do the same as above only select Mac OS All.

Your description doesn't sound like an extension conflict to me - based on what you share.

Have you increased the memory allocation to Final Draft? I would think the support folks would have at least taken you that far.

If not, navigate to the applications icon and select it with a single click, then press Apple-I to "get info". In the "Show" drop down menu select memory...increase the preferred size. I can't tell you by how much exactly because I don't know the application nor do I have enough system config info. Start with an increase of 2000.
