We recently installed Unixware 7.1.1 on Acer Altos 600 server having 4*9.1 GB hard disks on first Adaptec Controller and HP DAT on Symbios SCSI Controller. The system boots and everything seems to be working fine. However during the startup, after loading the SCSI drivers the system displays the following error:-

UX:sh (INITSH):ERROR: /etc/scsi/cpqunits : Not Found

Despite this the system boots and seem to work okay.
Any one having idea why such error is displayed and any remedy for the same? Is it a serious kind of error?

Thanks in Advance

Stan,I do not have ANY compaq component. The server is Acer. The two SCSI controllers are of Adaptec and Symbios only. And I did not load any compaq disk(s)then how this got loaded? Anyway how can we remove this error?

Well it somehow got into your /etc/inittab file.
I'm not the most familiar with unixware but generally you can temporarily remove something from inittab and it wont complain on system startup, but inittab (on openserver) is regenerated by rebuilding the kernel environment from files in the /etc/conf/init.d directory.

Thanks a lot Stan ! I disabled the entries pointed by you in inittab and /etc/conf/init.d/kernel.

THE ERROR DISAPPEARED.

Thanks once again.
