Error: SMTP instance fully-qualified domain name does not match server

When running the Exchange Troubleshooting Assistant, I get this error:

SMTP instance fully-qualified domain name does not match server name Server: XXXSERVER

The fully-qualified domain name of SMTP virtual server 'Default SMTP Virtual Server' on server xxxserver does not match the fully-qualified domain name of the server. This may cause mail routing problems. SMTP virtual server: xxxxx.com. Server: xxxserver.XXX.local.

I've replaced my company info with x's, obviously. I have no idea how to fix this. Any help?
