Error sheet prints on second page of document

Hello. I have a few users connected to an HP laserjet 4. Recently a couple of them have been printing documents (emails, word documents etc) and when they grab the document from the printer a few things have happened:

1. The word doc comes out as a blank page and a second page printed with the error "Error: invalidfont Offending Command: xshow Stack: then some numbers"

2. Their email will print the header information only and then the second page has the error mentioned in point 1.

I've reinstalled the printer, reinstalled Office, uninstalled Office and then did a fresh install, tried printing from the Admin signon. Both users are on XP Pro.

I've searched this error on the net quite a bit and can't find any resolution. Has anyone seen this before? Any idea which direction to go in for this error?

Have you checked the drivers ? Since these are XP;is SP 2
loaded ? Check the HP web site for XP-related problems.
