Error:server (name):duplicate name; pick new name or delete old one.

Get this error when labeling a clone tape in a higher range of bar code numbers. Works fine when labeling a low number tape. Tried many things, including trying to force a recycle on the tape or use the command: nsrjb -LRvSX (where "X" stands for the slot number of the tape I'm trying to force the relabel on). Rebooted server and jukebox. Tried re-setting the sleep times on the tape drives. Also getting "bad block" errors in Event Viewer when attempting relabel.

System: NT Workstation. Legato version 5.5.1.

Hi,

Try deleting the nsrjb.res file, then running jbconfig to redefine the JBX,then full inventory. "Long live king Moshiach !"

I have had this happen before and it has always been because the tape had an entry in the media management database. If you delete the volume from here it should be possible to label the tape.
