Hi,

The web server crashed and affected the oracle listener this morning so I had to shutdown the db and reboot the box. Then got these error messages, should they be of any concern?

I thought the errdemon runs automatically at boot startup, if so what is errdead? I am aware these error messages are classified as TEMP but if it is AIX system files then should it be of any concern?

reboot and errlogoff and errlogon are normal on a reboot.

The system gets the shutdown command, issues the errorlog stop, reboot
(all written to the errpt) and then when the machine comes up does the errlogon

The time on errlog on is after errlog off...so it appears to just be normal on reboot.

On your question on Errordead Extracts error records from a system dump -
Your machine did not do a system dump, so ignore it....it appears normal so nothing needs to be done.

Class of other in the errpt just means that it is notifying you that the errdemon is going down and back up.

Do nothing it is normal.
