Well last night when I left my stand alone Redhat 7.0 machine here at work, it was running just fine.
I came back today and it had been shut off for whatever reason.
When booting back up I get this error:
---------------------
Error reading block 467977 (attempt to read block from file system resulted in short read.)
/:UNEXPECTED INCONSISTENCY; RUN fsck MANUALLY
(i.e., withouht -a or -p options.)
*** AAn error occurred during the file system check.
*** Dropping you to a shell, the system will reboot
*** when you leave the shell
give root password for maintenance
(or type Control-D for normal startup):
-----------------------------
I can press Control-D, and it will reboot and get back to the same place that this error is present.
Or I can enter in the root password, and it will get me this :
-----------------------
(repair file system) 1 #_
-------------------------
What can I do to fix this? I have no idea on how to fix it.
Thanx in advance,
donn
